(More customer reviews)I have had a Scooter for several years and now have a use for another one, which is why I'm here.It is advertised as a "laptop stand," and it does that job very well (I'm on the couch typing on my Scooter-borne laptop right now), but it's also excellent as an accessory for a desktop computer, being a keyboard/mouse platform that is conveniently independent of the desk or table on which your monitor sits.No matter what chair you sit in or how high your monitor, the Scooter can put the keyboard/mouse in the right place for a good, ergonomic fit.I like it much better than any under-desk "keyboard drawer."Maybe the Scooter isn't so expensive if you think of it as the only "computer furniture" you need.
To tell the truth, I came here looking for something "like" the Scooter but costing a lot less.Unfortunately, I'm really not finding anything, so I may have to order another Scooter.Herman Miller must have this thing patented down to the nubs, because it's so useful and simple that you'd think it would have been copied by a dozen other name brands and sold everywhere for $59.95.You can't look at the Scooter and think, "Right, that's obviously worth three bills."I'd give it five stars if it wasn't so bloody expensive.
